A Missouri man has died as a result of being struck by pickup truck Monday along Arkansas 72 Highway East in Benton County according to the Arkansas State Police.
A preliminary report filed Tuesday morning with the ÀSP says that 46-year-old Matthew H. Logan of Seligman, Missouri was struck and killed by a Ford F-150 after being hit at approximately 5:55 a.m. Monday morning. According to the report, Pea Ridge police officers were the first to respond and begin performing CPR on Logan before he was transported to Northwest Medical in Bentonville.
The report says Logan succumbed to his injuries at the hospital approximately 55 minutes after impact.
The report also says Logan was walking in the eastbound lane when he was struck by the eastbound pickup truck.
While officers from Pea Ridge were first to physically respond to the incident, the place where the accident happened actually occurred holds a Bentonville address.
According to ASP Trooper Caleb Miller, who worked the accident for the agency, weather conditions were clear and the roadway was dry at the time of the impact.
Logan's death is the 496 of the Year attributed to rodeway accidents in the state of Arkansas for 2023.
