Man with Fort Smith address arrested in Washington County for failing to register as sex offender
A 31-year-old registered sex offender who has been living in Fort Smith found himself back in the Washington County Detention Center after an arrest Wednesday morning for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender and for having an incorrect address on his driver's license.
Nathaniel Schibline, who was placed on the state Sex Offender Registry originally after convictions for second and Third Degree Sexual Abuse, has had numerous felony drug arrests and been the subject of three orders off protection since April of 2019.
Two of those orders of protection were filed by the same woman, who dropped the original complaint and filed a second one less than seven moths later.
Despite those arrests, and revocation charges in the interim, Schibline has serves just 173 days of local jail time and drawn supervised probation on charges that would have sent most people to prison for an extended stay.
Schibline was registered with the Washington County Sheriff Office with his Fayettevillle address, which was on North College in Fayetteville. The WCDC booking information lists his address as 4010 Ridgeway Drive in Fort Smith. He formerly had an address on West College in Fayetteville.
Schibline remained behind bars Wednesday afternoon on a no bond hold awaiting a bond hearing on Friday.
