A 42-year-old man already facing charges in Pulaski County on two counts of Internet Stalking of a Child and one count of Traveling for the Purpose of Unlawful Sex Act with a Minor was arrested on Tuesday and booked into the Pope County Detention Center on two counts of Rape.
According to information from Arkansas Court Connect, Jacob Carter Johnson, 42, was booked into the Pope County Detention Center on Tuesday and charged in connection with the rape of a minor victim.
While the affidavit was sealed, information stating that the victim was 13 years old can be discerned from court documents.
While all the affidavits stemming from both arrests have been sealed the dates seem to indicate that the to incidents are related. According to the same sources, Carter was arrested on a warrant that was issued on June 27.
The court appearance in Pulaski County for his plea and arraignment on the Internet Stalking and Traveling to Engage with Sex with a Minor charge was held three days before the issuing of the warrant in Pope County.
The Pulaski County charges listing list the date of the internet stalking as February 3rd of this year with the violation date listed for traveling for purpose of unlawful sex act with a minor as being February 9th. Pope County court records list the violation date for the two counts of rape as February 7th.
A warrant was issued out of Pope County on the Rape charges on June 27th. Court records also show that prosecutors immediately filed for a protective order to seal all the records in the case to protect the identity of the victim.
It is unclear whether Johnson resides in Pope or Pulaski county.
Johnson is set for a jury trial on the Pulaski County charges on January 30, 2025, according to court records.
