A 66-year-old Oklahoma man who was last released from prison in 2016 is the only person listed by the Sequoyah County sheriff's office in their most wanted category.
According to information from the Sequoyah County sheriff website, Dee Wayne Puryear is wanted for failure to register as a sex offender in Sequoyah County.
Tracking Puryear through online sources, it appears that the 66-year-old may have lived in the Tulsa area as recently as 6 months ago. According to online information he was convicted in 2001 of two counts of second-degree rape and two counts of forcible compulsion.
According to information from the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, he spent five years in prison on those charges before his release in 2006. That conviction came out of Osage County.
In May, 2015 he spent a little less than seven months in the Tulsa County Detention Center for assault and battery on a police officer. In a separate listing for the same crime in December of 2015, Puryear spent just a little less than 12-months incarcerated. All told, he has been sentenced to a combined total of eight years since his 2001 coniction when you take into account the concurrent sentences.
Puryear is listed on the National Sex Offender registry but there is no information about his current whereabouts listed.
He is described as being 66 years old 5'10 tall and 180 lb he has gray hair and blue eyes.
According to information from the Oklahoma Sex Offender Registry, per year has several tattoos and scars that might help to identify him.
On his right knee he has eyeballs with "Moon "painted on them and on his left knee is the number "57". He has a neck tattoo with a Chevy symbol and a tattoo on his right arm of 1940s Ford vehicle. He also has a scar on his left knee from tattoo removal and scars from two 3-inch cuts on his left forearm.
