Logan County deputies arrest Dardanelle man Monday on two sexual assault charges
A two-time convicted felon from Dardanelle who has seen his punishment for a total of at east five convictions consist of probation and a suspension of his drivers license was arrested Monday in Logan County and charged with two counts of Sexual Assault in the Second Degree.
Zachary Denney, 22, whose Facebook page describes him as a racer at a local drag strip, was booked into the Logan County Detention Center at 1:41 p.m. on Monday after an arrest by the Logan Count Sheriff Office.
The specific charge of Sexual Assault in the Second Degree usually involves an individual eighteen years of age or older engaging in sexual contact with another person who is less than fourteen years of age.
Denny has previous felony arrests and convictions for Possession of Controlled Substances and Drug Paraphernalia as well as revocation charges from May and December of 2020.
He was arrested in July of this year on a Felony Failure to Appear charge that was still pending in the 5th Judicial District in Pope County. One of his previous arrests came out of Yell County.
His December 2020 arrest for Possession of a Controlled Substance resulted in a 48 month probation and suspension of his driver's license, which came on the heels of his May 2020 arrest. In that case, he negotiated down from Felony Possession of Controlled Substance to a paraphernalia charge that also resulted in a 36-month probation stint.
All of those cases have been reopened in light of his Failure to Appear charge from July, which is little solace to his sexual assault victim.
