A 2020 arrest that triggered a felony petiton to revoke for 2018 drug-related crimes that initailly led to a suspended imposition of sentence sent a Lavaca man to prison from Sebastian County Circuit Court last week.

Forty-two year-old Darren Raye Hutchins remains in the Sebastian County Detention Center awaiting transfer to the Arkanas Department of Corrections after being sentenced to concurrent terms of four years with eight years suspended.

The sentences stem from 2016 and 2018 arrests for Possession of Controlled Substances and Paraphernalia.

In addition, Hutchins and a co-defendent picked up another arrest in October 2020 on more related drugs charges as well as one count of Tampering with Evidence. Those charges were not prosecuted as part of the plea deal.
