On June 20 Logan County deputies responded to a report of a violent abduction at a residence west of Booneville. According to the sheriff’s office, the caller claimed several men had entered a home, assaulted a man, and forcibly took him in a truck.
The suspects were reportedly armed with two handguns and a baseball bat and stole the victim’s cell phone during the encounter.
Deputies quickly launched an alert, and with assistance from Arkansas State Police, located and stopped the suspect vehicle on Loveall Road in the Sugar Grove community southeast of Booneville.
Four men were taken into custody at the scene: Sergio Burgueno, 50, of North Little Rock; Demarcus Albert, 29, of Memphis; Dustin Brockinton, 38, of Sherwood; and Christopher Thronebury, 45, of Pine Bluff.
Inside the truck, law enforcement recovered a blood-stained baseball bat, two handguns, the stolen phone, and approximately 2.10 ounces of what is suspected to be methamphetamine.
The injured victim was later discovered at a nearby residence, where he had reportedly been abandoned after the suspects forced entry while searching for money. Once the suspects found nothing, they fled—only to be intercepted moments later.
All four men face a lengthy list of felony charges, including Kidnapping, Aggravated Robbery, Aggravated Residential Burglary, Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Deliver, Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms, and Possession of Firearms by Certain Persons (Felons). Additional charges include Battery in the 3rd Degree, Theft of Property, and Aggravated Assault.
Each remains in custody at the Logan County Detention Center with bond set at $1 million.
