Kay County predator watchdog group led investigators to brothers trying to sexually abuse teens




Ponca City Police arrested two adult males following a tip received about inappropriate conversations with juveniles under the age of 16.


The Oklahoma Predator Prevention posted a video on their Facebook of workers confronting the pair about a chat with an underage juvenile.

According to a police press release, Ponca City police officers conducting the initial investigation today observed methamphetamine in plain view while at the residence. Additionally, it was discovered that one of the suspects had child pornography on his cell phone.


Detectives secured a search warrant, for various electronic devices taken from the household. Both individuals, James Garland Conroy-Solee and Duane Allen Solee, 54, were taken into custody.


Duane’s is a convicted sex offender and his criminal background includes convictions for lewd molestation and rape by instrumentation. On Nov. 28, 2005 he was convicted in Kay County District Court on those charges and sentenced to  20 years in prison. DOC records show that he was discharged on Nov. 19, 2021.


Ponca City police spokesman Ben Garrison said that the PCPD is committed to protecting the safety and well-being of the community, particularly its vulnerable members. The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be filed as the case progresses. Garrison said that current mug shots of the pair will be released on Monday.


This is the second arrest made in Kay County this year with the assistance of the Oklahoma Predator Prevention.
