Johnson County officials jail Clarksville man on 1st Degree Murder charge Sunday afternoon

A 22-year-old Clarksville man is behind bars in Johnson County tonight facing one count of Homicide - Murder in the First Degree.


According to information from the Johnson County Detention Center jail roster Mark Anthony Gonzalez,, who is no stranger to police in Johnson County, was booked into thefacility at 6:36 p.m. on Sunday..


Innformation from previous mugshots involving Gonzalez reaveals he was was arrested twice in 2023, once for Domestic Battery Third Degree / Purpose of Causing Injury or Causes Serious Injury and False Imprisonment second degree. His second arrest came approximately five weeks later when he was arrested for Domestic Battering/Third Degree and Violation of a Protection Order.


During the same time period he was in court twice as the same woman sought a protection order against him on tewo different occasions.


Arkansas Court Connect does not show any related information about adjuration involving those two arrests.


Obviously, there is an active investigation into the murder. No information has been released on the identity of the victim or the actual location of the murder at this time.
