A Johnson County man remains in jail today after his arrest on Wednesday on a warrant for Sexual Assault in the Second Degree and Sexual Grooming of a Child Under the Age of Thirteen, according to information from the Johnson County Sheriff Office and Arkansas Court Connect.
Thirty-four year-old Anthony Shane Flurry of Oark is behind bars on the twin felonies awaiting a bail hearing on the charges.
The Sexual Assault charge is a Class B Felony punishable by up to twenty years in prison and a $15,000 fine while the grooming charge is a D Felony and carries up to six years and a $10,000 fine.
The booking information from the JCSO lists a tentative court date of July 8 at am.
For obvious reasons, none of the information about the crimes has been released other than the charges and the fact the victim is under the age of thirteen.
The warrant was issued on June 9 and the violation date cited in April 1, 2020.
Flurry is also the defendant in an Order of Protection filed against him by an Oark woman in March of this year. The court paper work shows the woman filed the Order of Protection for one of her children who is a stepchild t0 Flurry.
The Oark woman referenced a report being filed with CASA concerning the same child for which she sought the order of protection.
