Johnson County man dead after ATV's collide on County Road 2250 near Hartman on Wednesday

A 71-year-old Hartman man died Wednesday morning as the result of injuries he sustained in an ATV accident that occurred on rural County Road 2250 near Hartman in Johnson County.

According to a preliminary7 report filed by the Arkansas State Police with the state Department of Public Safety, Keith Alan Russell was piloting a 1992 Hinda ATV west along the ditch line on the stretch of county road when he attempted to left cross the highway in front of a 2014 Jaguar ATV moving in the same direction.

Russell died as a result of the injuries he suffered from the collision ands was declared dead at the scene by the Johnson County Coroner Office.

Corporal Kyle Johnson of the Arkansas State Police noted that weather was rainy and the roadway was wet at the time of the accident. Russell's death is 143th fatality in 128 accidents for the year.
