Incident report from FSPD on man arrested in bank parking lot attack of two women last week


The suspect who attacked two women in a Fort Smith bank parking lot last week was arrested on a warrant on Wednesday charging him with Battery in the Third Degree - Purposely and Assault in the 2nd Degree, both state felonies.


Brandon Keith Owens of Fort Smith faces the charges after an investigation led to the Sebastian County Prosecutor's Office amended the original charges from misdemeanors to felonies. Owens attacked Courtney Purvis and Paige Balch (aka Paige Goodleaf) after Purvis slightly rear-ended the car Owens was driving in a Simmons Bank drive-through.


Owens confessed to his part in the incident the same day it occurred with a social media post on Facebook. Owens was in and out of jail in about two hours and was released on a $1500 legally sufficient bond.
