Icy road conditions contribute to death of Cave Springs man on I49 in Washington County Saturday




A Cave Springs man died Saturday night as the result of a two vehicle crash near mile marker 72 on I49 in Washington County, according to th Arkansas State Police.


Police officials say 50-year-old Paul Brunghardt was driving a 2004 Jeep northbound on I49 Saturday night at just before 9 p.m. when he lost control while entering the interstate the of an oncoming from an on ramp and spun out of control into the path of a 2007 . Kenworth tractor-trailer rig.


The Jeep spun into the center lane and was facing south when the impact occurred.


Brunghardt was taken to Mercy Hospital of Rogers where he as pronounced dead of his injuries.


Trooper Desmond Benton of the Arkansas State Police reported clear condition s and icy roads at the time of the accident.
