A 27 year-old Huntsville man whose Facebook page identifies him as a park interpreter at the Prairie Grove Battlefield State Park was arrested by the Washington County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday and charged with one count of Possessing, Viewing or Distributing Child Pornography according to booking information from the Washington County Detention Center.

Matthew Heran was being held on a $10,000 bond and his first court appearance is set for Friday. He is also scheduled for a court appearance on March 1 at the Washington County Circuit Court.

According to Heran's Facebook page, he has been a park interpreter at the state-owned Prairie Grove Battlefield State Park in Prairie Grove in central Washington County from August 31, 2018 to the present.

From information gleaned from Heran's social media pages, it appears he is also a Civil War reenactor and may be involved in the Boys Scouts in some sort of voluntary leadership position.

As of 5:12 p.m. on Thursday, Heran remained behind bars at the Washington County Detention Center.
