Huntsville man killed in rural Madison County two-car accident on Sunday

According to the Arkansas State Police, a Huntsville man was killed in a two vehicle collision that occurred Sunday on State Highway 45 at the junction of Madison County Road 8225 just after 9:30 p.m.


Officials say 62-year-old Billy J. Holt died as a the result of injuries sustained in the accident involving a Toyota Tundra and a Nissan Frontier where both vehicles ran off the roadway and struck trees.


Holt was southbound in the 2002 Toyota when he crossed the center line and struck the northbound 2002 Nissan. The Holt vehicle then struck a large tree and the Nissan hit several smaller trees before coming to rest.


The unidentified driver of the Nissan was not injured.


Trooper Jackson Little noted the weather was clear the pavement was dry at the time of the accident, which marks the 379 roadway fatality in Arkansas for 2020.
