Head-on crash on State Highway 22 in rural Logan County proves deadly to 40-year-old Paris man


A 40-year-old Paris man died as a result of an accident on June 1st according to the Arkansas State Police.

A preliminary ASP report says that a 2011 Volkswagen was stopped facing south on Cora road at the intersection of state highway 22. A 2007 Suzuki motorcycle was headed west on SH 22 when the Volkswagen made a left turn onto the highway.


The Suzuki struck the Volkswagen head-on. Both were disabled on the highway blocking the westbound lane and partially blocking the inside eastbound lane.


Police identified the victim as 40-year-old Philip Gann of Paris. who was the driver of the Suzuki. One other person was injured in the accident and transported to UAMS in Little Rock. The identity of that person and which vehicle they were traveling in was not identified in the report.

Police said the Logan County accident occurred at 9:11 a.m. on Thursday.

Corporal Corrt Williams of the Arkansas State Police worked the accident and said weather conditions were clear and road conditions were dry.
