A 22-year-old Subiaco woman is dead and a 23-year-old Scranton woman who was a passenger in her car was hospitalized after a Saturday afternoon to car collision on State Highway 109 inside the Subiaco city limits in Logan County.
According to a preliminary police report released by the Arkansas State Police and posted on the Arkansas Department of Public Safety Website, Jurnee Stanford, 22, of Subiaco was the driver of an unidentified vehicle that was traveling north on State Highway 109.
Stanford failed to negotiate a curve and struck a second unidentified southbound vehicle head on.
Stanford was pronounced dead by the Logan County coroner's office. Her passenger, 23-year-old McKenna Hurst of Scranton, was airlifted to UAMS Medical Center in Little Rock with unknown injuries.
Trooper Tucker Phelps work the accident for the Arkansas State Police and noted clear weather and dry road conditions at the time of the impact.
