Haskell concrete truck driver killed when truck rolls over him on Oklahoma Highway 10A



An Oklahoma Highway Patrol report issued Friday by the Arkansas Department of Public Service says a Haskell man died in an accident on October 18 involving a concrete truck in Sequoyah County..


Royce Harp, 53, was transported to to Northeast Hospital in Sallisaw where he was pronounced dead on the day of the accident. Details were not released until Friday pending notification of his next of kin.


According to OHP, report , at just before 1 p.m. on the day of the accident, Harp had exited a 2002 Kenworth concrete truck he was driving just east of Manns Drive and a mile south of Aqua Park on Oklahoma State Highway 10A. Harp had been northbound, going up a steep incline, and the report indicates the vehicle was too heavy to make it up the hill.


While the vehicle was rolling backward, the truck ran over Harp and went down an embankment.
