An 18- year-old Greenwood High School student was arrested on drug charges Friday morning according to information from the Greenwood Police Department.

According to a press release from the Greenwood Police Department, a school resource officer told the police department that Devin White was selling THC cartridges and marijuana to other students at the south Sebastian County school.

After obtaining a probable cause search warrant officers found 15 g of THC cartridges and 18 g of medical grade marijuana in White's vehicle, which was parked in the high school parking lot.

Chief Will Dawson issued tthe following statement:

“It seems as though victims of this drive to legalize marijuana are school age kids. Since the time leading up to, and the passage of medicinal use, we’ve seen a large increase in adolescent use,: said Dawson. "Additionally, the ease of obtaining vapes, including THC cartridges, has also drastically increased. Stores selling vapes continually get caught selling to minors with very little consequences. There needs to be stiffer penalties to help keep these items away from our youth”.

White was released from the Sebastian County Detention Center on $20,000 bond shortly before 4:30 p.m. Friday afternoon.
