Greenwood 26-year-old gets 25-year sentence on two counts of child rape after plea deal

A 26-year-old Greenwood man who has been on bond and skirted justice on child pornography charges in Crawford County for over a year will spend at least the next decade in prison after a plea deal on Rape charges in Sebastian County Circuit Court on Wednesday.


JacobRay Fulford (AKA Jacob Bledsoe) drew a 25-year sentence in the Arkansas Department of Corrections with an aditional 15 -years suspended on two counts Rape in which the victim was less than 14-years old. All the sentences were set to run concurrently.


Fulford was arrested May 19, 2020 for the rapes which occurred in November of 2018, and spent almost five months in the Sebastian County Detention center before e he was released on a $75,000 legally sufficent bond on October 4 of the same year.


Fulford had been charged with two counts of Distributing. Possessing ot Viewing Explicit Matter Depicting a Chilld approximately a month before he was arrested on the rape charges. That case has languished through three motions for continuances and three petitions for withdrawal by his attorney before he was finally assigned a public defender on March 22 of this year.


The last action in that case was a motion for discovery by Crawford County prosecutor Rinda Baker in late April.


Likewise, it took over a year before Fulford finally took a plea deal in the Sebastian County rapes.


Fulford will also re required to register as a sex offender and can have no future contact with the victim.
