A Greene County teenager died Monday in a one-vehicle crash on Farm Road 60 about five miles north of Springfield, according to the Missouri Highway Patrol.
The Greene County crash took the life of seventeen-year-old Aleyiah Aleiyah D. Smith and also sent seventeen-year-old Alexis Greene to a Springfield hospital after the 4;36 p.m. accident. Both teens were from Willard.
Police say Smith was diving a 1997 Saturn SL2 westbound on Farm Road 60 when the care exited the roadway to the right, struck a utility pole and traveled through a field before it overturned. Greene was taken to Mercy hospital in Springfield in unknown condition.
According to the MHP report, neither of the teens were wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
