A 22-year-old Carroll County man has died as the result of an accident that occurred Friday afternoon in a rural portion of Carroll County . (The ASP preliminary report lists the wrong day of the accident.)
According to that report, Wesley Martin of Green Forest was westbound on a bicycle on US Highway 62 near the intersection with State Highway 1023 South just after 4:30 pm when he was struck by a 2015 GMC Sierra making a left turn onto US Highway 62.
Martin became separated from the bicycle and was struck by a 2000 Dodge 1500 in the westbound lane of traffic. Martin was taken to Cox Medical Center4 where he later died from his injuries.
According to investigating officer Jacob P. Graham of thee Arkansas State Police, conditions were clear the roadway was dry at the time of the accident.
Martin's deat5h was the 87th of the year on Arkansas roads and highways for 2021.
