Gravette woman injured in Barton County, Missouri wreck on Friday
A nineteen year-old Gravette woman was taken to a hospital in Pittsburg , Kansas after she suffered what was termed moderate injuries after a wreck in Barton County, Missouri.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol released a report that said Violet Short of Gravette was transported by private vehicle to Ascension via Christy Hospital in Pittsburg after the one-vehicle accident in the county the Missouri-Kansas border.
Short was a passenger in a 1994b Dodge 1500 driven by 26-year-old Devin Cox of Arcadia, Kansas that was traveling northbound on Northwest 160th Lane approximately two mile north of Burgess, Missouri. The truck struck a deer, skidded off the right side of the road and overturned.
Cox also suffered moderate injuries and went to the hospital in Pittsburg. A third occupant of the vehicle, 17-year-old Jeffery Devore of Frontenac, Kansas was transported to the Cox Barton County Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Trooper J.D. Leemasters was unable to ascertain of any of the three occupants were wearing a safety device at the time of the crash.
