A Benton County man was arrested on Wednesday and jailed on one count of Sexual Indecency with a Child and one count of Sexual Assault in the Second Degree according to booking information from the Benton County Detention Center.
Spencer Short, 32, remained jailed on Thursday on a $37, 500 bond on the Sexual Assault charge, which is a Class B felony in the state of Arkansas.
A person commits sexual assault in the second degree if the person engages in sexual contact with another person by forcible compulsion, with another person who is incapable of consent because he or she is physically helpless, mentally defective; or mentally incapacitated.
At deadline time, no specifics of the nature of Short's crimes were available.
