FSPD releases identification of man shot during Friday home invasion on North 18th Street

After next-of-kin notifications, Fort Smith Police has identified 29-year-old Jacob Andrew Webb as the deceased subject in the Friday shooting incident that occurred on North 18th Street.


Webb reportedly forced his way into the home and was fatally shot by the resident when he threatened him with a knife. The 58-year-old homeowner was taken to a local hospital to be checked for non life-threatening injuries.


Just prior to the shooting, Webb attempted another break-in and attack on North 14th Street, That home owner was acquainted with Webb and after being struck in the face


The shooting occurred approximately four blocks east of the home on North 14th on the same side of Grand Avenue shortly after the first incident.


Webb, who was on an extended probation out of Logan county on two separate drug-related arrests from 2020 and 2021 for which he received suspended impositon of sentences, was arrested in Sebastian County in 2019 as well. He was booked into the Sebastian County Adult Detention Center on December 19, 2019 after an arrest by the FSPD.


The Fort Smith Police Department says the incident from Friday is still under investigation.
