FSPD arrests Fort Smith man for Monday home invasion robbery on city's south side

Today in Fort Smith (Jan. 28, 2025) - Fort Smith Police have arrested 19-year-old DaJohn Ringo following an aggravated robbery reported at a residence in the 2800 block of South Vicksburg.


Officers were dispatched to the location after a victim reported that Ringo, who was known to him, had taken a firearm from inside the residence


When confronted about the stolen gun, Ringo allegedly pointed the weapon at the victim and demanded his phone and car before fleeing the scene on foot.


Officers quickly identified a residence associated with Ringo in the 5000 block of South 31st Street. Contact was made with the occupants, and with consent from a family member, officers searched the home. Ringo was located hiding behind a washing machine and was taken into custody without further incident.


Following an interview at Police Headquarters, Ringo was charged with aggravated robbery.


A search warrant was obtained for the residence, and the stolen firearm was recovered.


Ringo was taken into custody at 3:28 pm on Monday and is currently being held without bail at the Sebastian County Adult Detention Center. He is scheduled for his first court appearance on February 5.
