The Fort Smith Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred on Sunday night at approximately 10:30 PM.
According to a press release f4rom the FSPD, officers responded to a shooting call in the 1600 block of Fresno Street where they found the victim, 19-year-old Daevonte Nelson, in a parking lot.
He had been shot multiple times and was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Investigators are interviewing witnesses, but no arrests have been made at this time.
