Fort Smith sex offender held on $10,000 bond for failing to register


A Fort Smith registered sex offender remained behind bars on Thursday after being arrested for the tenth time in the past thirteen months, but this time he faces felony charges for failure to comply with the reporting conditions of the Sex offenders Registration Act.


Guy Francis Sill, whose last reported address was in the 1200 block of South W Street, was booked into the Sebastian County Detention Center at 7:15 am on Tuesday and remains incarcerated in lieu of a $10,000 legally sufficient bond. He is also charged with Class B Misdemeanor Failure to Appear.


.Failure to comply with the conditions of reporting certain information when a sex offender changes their address or status is a Class C Felony in Arkansas, punishable by three to ten years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.


Sill is on thee state Sex Offender Registry for a double conviction in 2003 on Rape charges. It took almost two years for the final adjudication of the charges, and Sill was sentenced to 120 months in prison with another 120 months suspended.


Sill was also hit with a Felony Failure to Appear charge in 2003, and in 2013 he spent time in the Crawford County Detention Center after a negotiated plea deal for Failing to Register as a Sex Offender.


In the past year, he has racked up a litany of arrests including Public Intoxication (multiple times), Disorderly Conduct, Aggravated Assault, and eight Failure to Appears on misdemeanor charges.
