A 33-year-old Fort Smith resident was sentenced to 15 years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections with an additional 15 years suspended after taking a plea deal in Sebastian County Circuit Court Wednesday morning on two felony crimes.

Keilan Noah Garrett, whose registered address with the court system is in the 1500 block of North 10th Street in Fort Smith, took a plea in open court for possession of counterfeit substance with purpose to deliver, and filing a false police report with an enforcement agency.

The conviction on the plea deal stems from crimes committed in December of 2022, according to rest records with the Sebastian County Detention Center.

Garrett was arrested again on April 6 for Class C Felony Failure to Appear for missing most recent court date and was free on a combined total of $17,500 legally sufficient bonds at the time of that arrest.

Three petitions to revoke were also withdrawn as part of the plea deal.

A habitual offender with a myriad of arrests in Sebastian County. Garrett's past crimes and convictions have included theft of property, forgery in the first-degree, contempt of court, criminal trespass, breaking and entering, possession of controlled substances, and possession of drug paraphernalia as well as a number of misdemeanor convictions.

Garrett has a lengthy list of convictions, most of which have resulted in suspended imposition of sentences. The bulk of the crimes have been committed in Crawford and Sebastian counties.

Garrett also has misdemeanor and felony arrests and convictions under the alias name of Rickelle Dawne Garrett dating as far back as 2008 according to Arkansas Court Connect.
