A manslaughter warrant was issued and served on Thursday in the August 17, 2020 shooting that lead to the death of 18-year-old Averill James in Fort Smith.
Fort Smith Police, working in conjunction with the Sebastian County Prosecutor’s Office, were able to take Lionel Larrinaga into custody Thursday afternoon.
James, who died on August 18, 202o from his wounds, was shot at the Allied Garden Estate Apartments at 5221 Johnson on the cities north side.
At this posting, investigators were still interviewing Larrinaga and his mugshot and booking information has not been posted on the Sebastian County Sheriff Office site.
