Fort Smith Police arrest suspect wanted on four counts of terroristic threaatening


On Saturday June 27th, 2020 the Fort Smith Police Department responded to a report of several gun shots in the 3000 block of Reed Lane.


Upon arrival, they learned a subject had fired several rounds into the windows of a residence there.  During the investigation, the Criminal Investigations Division was able to identify 21-year-old Derrick Walters as the suspect and ultimately obtained an arrest warrant for four counts of a Terroristic Act.


On Tuesday June 30th, 2020, the Criminal Investigations Division located Walters at a residence in the 4600 block of Summit Drive. A search warrant was obtained and once served, Walters was arrested inside without incident.


He was booked into the Sebastian County Jail on his warrant.
