Fort Smith City Administrator Carl Geffken has named Sara Deuster Interim Director of the City's Parks & Recreation Department.
Duester is the Deputy Director of the Parks & Recreation Department. She joined the department full-time in January 2014 and has served as the Deputy Director since July 2015.
Doug Reinert, former Parks & Recreation Department Director since 2015, recently took the position of City Administrator with the City of Fairfield, Iowa.
The City will utilize an executive recruiting firm that specializes in placements for local governments to find the next Director of the Parks & Recreation Department.
