A 37-year-old Fort Smith man who was arrested in February of this year and charged with one count of Rape and two counts of Sexual Assault in the Second Degree took a plea deal this week in Sebastian County Circuit Court and ended up with an eight-and-a-half year imposed sentence in the Arkansas Department of Corrections.
Court records from Sebastian County Circuit Court reflect Hector Penate-Guevara, who's most recent address listed with the court was in the 2800 block of Alabama Avenue in Fort Smith, has remained behind bars in the Sebastian County Detention Center since his February 7 arrest.
Pente Guevara was being held on a no bond hold as well as a $100,000 cash hold for his sexual crimes.

in the court proceeding on Wednesday, Pente-Guevara appeared with Deputy Public Defender Patrick Flake and pled guilty as charged to the two counts of Second Degree Sexual Assault. He was given eight-and-a-half years on both charges (set to run concurrently) and also received 11-and -a-half-years of suspended sentences.
He was ordered to have no contact with the victims, who were identified only by their initials, or their family. He was giving jail time credit for the four-plus months he had served, will be required to supply a DNA sample to the courts and must register as a sex offender..
As of Saturday at noon Pente-Guevara remain jailed in Sebastian County Detention Center awaiting his assignment and transfer to the ADC.
