Fort Smith man tagged with habitual offender status and sentenced to 20-years on drug charges


A 33-year-old Fort Smith man, who went into Sebastian County Circuit Court facing a plethora of charges on Wednesday, entered a plea deal and was gifted with a 20-year sentence in the Arkansas Department of Corrections according to information from the court.


Alan Bullington Jr, whose address listed with the Sebastian County Detention Center was in the 56000 block of Speaker Street in Fort Smith, entered a plea deal on manufacturer of a counterfeit substance and was given the imposed sentence.


Bullington, who has a laundry list of crimes in Sebastian County dating back to 2021, was sentenced as an habitual offender in the case.

In addition to the 20 years imposed, Burlington was given an additional 20 years suspended. He was given jail time credit since his arrest and will be required to furnish the court with a DNA sample.

A petition to revoke charge and two other charges were withdrawn based upon his plate.

Bulligton awaits transfer to the Arkansas Department of Corrections in the Sebastian County Detention Center.
