


Fort Smith Police made the sixth arrest of an individual in connection with an August. 9 residential burglary and shooting in the 1800 block of North 34th Court.
Police arrested 23-year-old Tavonte Barnum Thursday in connection to incident.
Five other suspects, including two juveniles and three adults who were arrested on the day of the incident.
In addition to the charges of terroristic act and aggravated residential burglary stemming from the August 9 incident, Barnum is being charged with felon in possession of a firearm, three counts of second-degree battery, one count of first-degree escape, fleeing with injury, criminal mischief, and resisting, which are related to his arrest.


The August 9 arrests included adult subjects Felisha Mitchell Dumas, 36; Dominique Jones, 35; and Desmond Jones, 20. All were charged with aggravated residential burglary.
Additionally, Desmond Jones was charged with a terroristic act.
Also on Aug. 9, the two juveniles were taken to the Sebastian County Juvenile Detention Center, where they were charged with aggravated residential burglary.
The investigation is ongoing, and more information will be released when available.
