Fort Smith man arrested in Comanche County, Oklahoma transported to SCADC to face rape charge




A twenty-year-old Fort Smith man remains behind bars Saturday night after he was transported to the Sebastian County Sheriff Office on Friday and charged with one count of Rape-Forcible Compulsion.


According to information obtained from the Sebastian County Circuit Court, John Thomas Ray Booth resides in the 14000 block of White Bluff Road in extreme southern Fort Smith.

The online court records are sealed and the specific charges aren't even listed, however, the dates on the Circuit Court page line up with the booking information from the Fort Smith Police Department, which lists the date of the crime as September 20.


The Fort Smith PD booking information lists a different hometown --Fort Sill, Oklahoma--and further research indicates that Booth was initially taken into custody by law enforcement officials in Comanche County, Oklahoma on the same day he was charged in Sebastian County. F0rt Sill is located in Comanche County.


Fort Sill is a United States Army post north of Lawton, Oklahoma, about 85 miles southwest of Oklahoma City.


Booth was booked into the Sebastian County Adult Detention Center at 2;23 p,m, Friday afternoon and is being held on a $50,000 cash bond. Booth faces a September 29 court date on the Class Y felony charge.
