Fort Smith Level 3 sex offender arrested in September still jailed in Crawford County
A Fort Smith man remains behind bars in Crawford County after an arrest in September for violating conditions of the state sex offender registry and being a bail jumper from Sebastian County.
Michael Lee Stacy, 43, was arrested by the Alma Police Department and charged with being a Sex Offender Prohibited From Entering Upon a School Campus and for being an absconder from Sebastian County. He faces a $15,000 bond on the sex offender registry charge and a no bond hold for being a fugitive from Sebastian County.
The arrest seems to stem from a September 21 incident at an Alma school, according to Arkansas Court Connect. The original arrest that put Stacey on the sex offender registry occurred in September of 2013 in Sebastian County when he was charged with two counts of Sexual Indecency with a Child Under the Age of 11.
He entered a guilty plea to those charges and was given 48 month on one count with 24 months suspended on the second count. The also served 30 days for a Revocation charge and had his suspended imposition of sentence moved to 2025.
In between then and now, he was arrested for Theft by Receiving n July of 2018 and received another 60 month suspended sentence and did thirty days for yet another Revocation charge.
Stacey is a Level 3 (High Risk) offender and his last reported address was in the 600 block of North 3rd in Fort Smith.
