Fayetteville police make third arrest in shooting that killed one and injured six on February 15





A third arrest has been made in the February 15 shooting

that killed a Springdale man at Fayetteville Environmntal Studies Lake.


Jose Casillas, 20, of Bentonville was arrested and charged with terroristic threatening, unlawful discharge of a firearm from a vehicle second-degree, engaging in violent criminal group activity, and aggravated assault.


This is the third arrest in this case.


Just before 11:15 pm on Thursday, February 15, officers were dispatched to a shooting near 599 E. Lakeview Dr. where a man was located deceased in the area.


Multiple individuals were brought to area medical facilities with what appear to be non-life-threatening injuries. Sources say six other individuals were also shot.


Gilberto Gordillo, 20, of Springdale was arrested six days later and charged with capital murder and four counts of attempted murder.


Fayetteville detectives continued their investigation and arrested Alberto Esteban–Cruz, 21, of Springdale on two counts of attempted murder, terroristic act, and engaging in violent criminal group activity.


This investigation is still ongoing.
