Fayetteville Police Department: Accident on Wedington Avenue on Friday leaves 65-year-old scooter rider dead


According to the Fayetteville Police Department (FPD), a 65-year-old man died in a collision on Wedington Drive between a scooter and a car on Friday.


The crash occurred Friday at approximately 8:45 a.m., according to the FPD, killing Michael Foster O'Bryan, a resident of Fayetteville.


According to an Arkansas Department of Public Safety crash report, O'Bryan was heading east on Wedington Drive on a 2021 Wolf scooter, while the second car, a 2015 Dodge Challenger, was traveling west.


 O'Bryan turned left in front of the Challenger and struck the car on the front left side.


 According to the DPS report , O'Bryan was transported to Washington Regional Medical Center where he later died.


Fayetteville patrol officer Adam Oelschlaegar was the investigating officer at the scene and noted clear weather and dry pavement at the time of the fatal crash.
