Fayetteville 40-year-old arrested on two counts of Sexual Indecency With a Child

A hearing date was set on Tuesday for a Washington County man who stands accused of two counts of Sexual Indecency with a Minor, according to booking information from the Washington County Detention Center.


Chad Bennett, 40, with an address in the 2600 block on West Vanike Drive in Fayetteville, turned himself into authorities on Tuesday. His Rue .1 appearance (first appearance) was held this morning in Washington County Circuit Court and he is dues back in the courtroom on February 24.


No bail information can be located, but Bennett had been released from the WCDC by 1 p.m. on Wednesday.


Sexual Indecency with a Child in Arkansas occurs if the person, being 18 years or older, solicits another person who is, or represented to be, less than 15 years to engage in sexual intercourse, deviate sexual activity, or sexual contact.


Sexual Indecency with a Child is a Class D felony, which is punishable by imprisonment by not more than six years or a fine not to exceed $10,000.
