Fatal motorcycle accident on State Highway 12 in Benton County deadly to Rogers man


The Arkansas State Police has released information on an accident that occurred last week within the city limits of Rogers in Benton County.


According to a preliminary accident report released by the Arkansas State Police and posted by the Arkansas Department of Public Safety, 34-year-old motorcyclist Donald Brown of Rogers was riding a 2008 Harley-Davidson eastbound on Highway 12 near the intersection of Deer Valley Road in Rogers.


For an unknown reason, the motorcycle veered off the roadway to the right and traveled through a ditch. The motorcycle then ran or the highway and laid down on its right side. Brown was thrown from the bike and the motorcycle came to final rest in the highway.


Brown was taken to Springfield Mercy hospital in Springfield Missouri where he succumbed to his injuries.


Police say the accident occurred at just after 9:00 p.m. on May 21st.


ASP trooper Britni Binam worked the accident for the agency and reported dry road conditions and weather at the time of the fatal accident. At the time, Brown's death was the 217th of the year on Arkansas roads and highways.
