A 38-year-old Waldron man is dead as a result of a two vehicle accident on Thursday that occurred within the city limits of Waldron according to the Arkansas state police.
Information from a posted report on the Arkansas Department of Public Safety website says that Joshua Spaeth was driving a 2014 Chevrolet northbound on US Highway 71 near the Poteau river on Thursday when the accident occurred.
According to that report, Spaeth failed to maintain proper distance between vehicles and struck the rear end of a 1995 Kenworth traveling on the highway in the same direction.
Police say the accident occurred at 5:20 a.m. and responding Trooper Mason Redding of Troop H of the Arkansas State Police noted clear weather conditions and a dry roadway at the time of the accident.
Spaeth's death represents the 517th of the year on Arkansas roads and highways.
