Failure to maintain sex offender registration information lands Choteau woman behind bars in Mayes County

A 50-year-old Choteau (Mayes County) woman remains behind bars in Mayes County after she was arrested on Wednesday and charged with Failure to Register as a Sex Offender and Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registration Act violations.

According to booking information from the Mayes County Detention Center, Christina Renee Hughes-Anderson, who shows no current address on the Oklahoma state sex offender registry, was taken into custody at 9:25 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Hughes- Anderson was arrested in 2005 in Mayes County and charged with two counts of second-degree rape that occurred in the city of Pryor. According to records access on the Oklahoma State Courts Network, she pled guilty and was given 10 years suspended on both counts except for 6 months in a local detention center...

She was ordered to serve the first two years of suspended sentence under supervised parole and probation, had to attend counseling, and pay a $500 fine.

She was also ordered to register on the state sex offenders list for the rest of her life.

Due to the aged status of the case and various laws regarding redaction of certain court papers, very little is known about Hughes-Anderson's original crime and arrest.
