Arkansas Highway 23, the scenic meandering roadway in Franklin County known locally as "The Pig Trail", claimed the life of a 73-year-of Harley Davidson rider on Sunday, according to the Arkansas State Police.
Troopers say Ronnie E. Johnson of Eufaula was killed when he failed to negotiate a left hand turn and ran off the roadway near the intersection of Highway 23 and Shores lake Road north of Turner Bend. Johnson was ejected from the motorcycle and died as the result of his injuries.
The weather was clear and toe road was dry at the time of the accident, according to the report.
Johnson was the 190th recorded death in the state by vehicular accident this year.
