Early Tuesday morning accident between vehice and eighteen-wheeler claims Owasso man

According to information from the Arkansas state police, nd Owasso, Oklahoma man died Tuesday in an accident that occurred on US Highway 412 near Schoolhouse Road in rural Benton Cunty.


According to that information, 40-year-old William Hollingsworth was driving a 2018 Isuzu westbound on us Highway 412 at approximately 4:30 a.m. According to the report a 2019 eastbound Freightliner was getting up to speed from entering the highway from the shoulder and the Isuzu failed to slow in time.


The front of the Isuzu collided with the rear of the trailer being towed by the Freightliner. The Isuzu caught fire and was fully engulfed moments later.


Hollingsworth was pronounced dead at the scene..


Trooper Harley Hopper noted at the time of the accident the weather was clear and the roadway was dry. The accident report was delayed several hours pending notification of next of kin.
