Early Sunday morning rear-end accident in Bentonvile takes life of 63-year-old Rogers motorcyclist

A 63-year-old Rogers man was killed in the early morning hours of Sunday morning in a three-vehicle collision that occurred on Exit 99 on Interstate 49 North at 12:34 a.m.


According to an accident report posted by thye Arkansas State Police on Sunday n the Department f Public Safety website, Larry Carpenter was piloting a 1997 Yamaha north on I49 when his motorcycle was rear-ended by a 2012 Chevrolet Malibu. Carpenter was propelled from the bike into the path of a northbound 2010 Mercedes.


The drivers of both automobiles escaped injuries.


Trooper Zenda Staab reported the road was clear and the roadway was dry at the tie of the accident.


The death marked the 443rd roadway fatality in Arkansas for the year.
