Early Sunday morning accident on Valley Road takes life of 24-year-old Fort Smith man

A 24-year-old Fort Smith died Sunday as the result of a single vehicle crash near the intersection of Valley and Berryhill roads in Fort Smith, according to information from the Arkansas State Police.

The preliminary report filed with the Fort Smith Police by the ASP says Julio Cesar Salas was driving a 2015 Camaro west bund on Valley Road when he lost control of the car and went into a dich. The vehicle rolled several times and Salas was killed as the result of the crash.

A passenger in the Camaro, 26-year-old Kylee Rashae VonHorn, was taken to Mercy Hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries.

Officer M. Malone of the FSPD said the accident occurred at 2:23 am and conditions were cloudy with a dry pavement.
