The Arkansas State Police says a 19-year-old Waldron man became the 57th roadway fatality in the state of Arkansas for the year on Saturday when he died in a one vehicle crash in Scott County.
According to information from a Arkansas state police report preliminary report released on Monday morning, 19-year-old Fernando Guerrero of Waldron was westbound on Highway 80 inside the Waldron city limits on Saturday when the 2009 Subaru he was driving crossed the center lane and ran off the roadway.
According to that report the vehicle went into a ditch and struck a tree. Information from the investigating officer indicates that Guerrero died at the scene.
ASP officer corporal Jed L. Bolyard noted clear weather conditions and a dry roadway at the time of the accident which occurred at 2:21 a.m. Saturday morning.
