Drug plea agreement lands Fort Smith man in state prison system for six years


Thirty-six-year-old Mark Anthony Ross of Fort Smith drew a six year imposed sentence as well as additional nine years suspended on possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernal charges in Sebastian County last week..


On Wednesday, Ross appeared with public defender Sean Fry and state prosecutors announced the addition of a habitual offender enhancement in the in the case.

Ross pleaded guilty to both charges and as part of the plea deal and a petition to revoke with withdrawn in the court proceedings.


Court records showed his latest address in Fort Smith in the 1300 block of North 45th Street.

Ross has been a frequent flyer in the Sebastian County Court system since back in 2013. His charges have involved domestic battery, failures to appear . contempt, a number of petitions to revokes as well as drug charges.

Detention center, Ross was arrested in November of last year on the charges for which he appeared in court last week. He has been free on $2,750 worth of bonds until he was arrested on misdemeanor failure to appear charges as well as a felony petition to revoke in March of this year.

Ross was still incarcerated at the SC ADC as of noon on Sunday awaiting transfer to the Arkansas Department of Corrections.
