Drug arrest for Rudy man concludes with four-year sentence on the backside of Wednesday plea deal

A twenty-six year-old Rudy man drew a four-year prison sentence in open court on Wednesday after changing his plea to guilty on Possession of Methamphetamine and Drug Paraphernalia charges stemming from an early June arrest this year.

Donovan Michael Askins of rural Crawford County was in and pout of the Sebastian County Adult Center in ,less than nine hours after being allowed to sing a $30000 signature bond. then failed to show up for his trial. He was arrested again on September 1 and charged with Felony and Misdemeanor Failure to Appear and for an assist to an outside agency.

His initial drug charges were for Possession of Meth and Possession of a Controlled Substance but the second count was modified to the paraphernalia charge as part of the plea agreement.

Askins was given credit for the fourteen days he has served since that September arrest and all of his sentences were set to run concurrently with previous charges out of Crawford County.
